Thank you for sharing your thoughts on connecting with each other. I hear you when you say we need to love each other and not focus on convincing others, let the Holy Spirit Who leads us into truth do that. Sounds like a good idea. But, what makes this so hard for me is the disdain some particular Christians have for me having different ideas. Some of these Christians are extremely arrogant and close minded. It hurts my feelings immensely when people genuinely think they are better than me because they know what is good and true, and therefor I do not, in their opinion. So I'ld rather avoid these people all together.

How do you handle these situations?

Hi Ruth, you touched on an issue that is sadly very common. Overall, I think this issue involves only a small group of Christian people, yet the hard feelings they cause has a big impact on those on the receiving end. I think some people have trouble accepting that everyone is different, and everyone is on a different path in their walk with God. Some people involved in the church seem to get the idea that they are on a higher plain than those they feel are not quite as spiritual as they are. It is sad, and I am not sure much can be done about it. For me, I try to keep in mind the people who do this are not perfect and are loved by God just as much as everyone else. I feel there are many more people who will be loving and accepting to you, so you can pay no attention to the people who treat you this way. Keep searching for and connect with the people who truly see you as a fellow believer and follower of Jesus. It is sad, but the old saying 'there is no hate like Christian hate' is often very true. Fortunately, it is only true of a small amount of people and I pray that in time, they will come to see the error in the way they treat their brothers and sisters in Christ. I hope this helps. Thanks so much for commenting and sharing your feelings.
